One of the problems of online dating is that the seeker of a relationship wishes to appear strong and independent. Thus he or she will emphasize how good life is, or how content they are to be alone, or how much merriment they seek. Missing are the effective signs of loneliness, isolation, and being solitary. Of course, a full description of such liabilities may scare off a potential mate, but the acknowledgment of a certain degree of neediness is welcome and makes the writer seem more human.
